Questions and answers
How do I switch between the analog and the digital face?
Swipe sideways across the tile. On a Mac, swipe with two fingers on the trackpad or one finger on a Magic Mouse.
The face you leave on is the face you see at the next launch.
How do I switch between full color and glass?
Tap or click the tile. A tap that moves turns into a swipe, or on the Mac into a drag of the window, so keep it still.
Why does the tile turn to glass on my Mac when I click somewhere else?
That is on purpose: while Glass Clock is not the active app, the tile turns to glass, the way desktop widgets do while you work.
To keep the look you chose instead, turn off Glass When Inactive in the View menu.
How do I move and resize the tile on the Mac?
Drag it anywhere on its body to move it.
Resize it by dragging its edges or corners, by pinching on the trackpad, or with Bigger and Smaller in the View menu, which are Command-Plus and Command-Minus. It always stays square.
How do I keep the tile above my other windows?
Choose Float on Top in the View menu.
Why did the tile snap to half of my screen?
Dragging a window to a screen edge triggers macOS window tiling, which resizes it. That is system behavior, and you can turn it off under System Settings, Desktop & Dock, Windows.
How do I change the background on my iPhone or iPad?
Tap the backdrop, outside the tile. A capsule offers the mesh gradient, a plain color, and a photo. It goes away with your choice, on the next tap, or after a few seconds.
Does choosing a photo give the app access to my photo library?
No. The picker is the system’s and runs outside the app, so Glass Clock only ever receives the one photo you pick. It keeps a copy in its own container; choosing the mesh or the plain color again deletes it.
Can it show alarms, timers, or a second time zone?
No. Glass Clock is the widget and nothing more, by design.
What do I need to run it?
iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27 on a Mac with Apple silicon, or visionOS 27.
What does Glass Clock keep on my device?
Your settings: which clock face and which look you chose, the backdrop choice, and on the Mac the window options. If you picked a photo as the backdrop, a copy of that photo. Nothing leaves the device.
How do I close it on the Mac?
Command-W closes the tile. Command-Q quits.
